Dear friends, family, fitness enthusiasts, Burghers, and followers of primalburgher.com, I wanted to take the time out today to talk about keeping your focus when life throws you a bit of unfortunate news (and no, I will not be discussing what that news pertains to in detail. It is not my place to do so. Just know that in the land of kettlebells, new developments are on the rise and these new developments have caused waves of anxiety coming from every direction imaginable. The fear of the unknown is a bugger, and that’s real talk ya heard?). Over the weekend, I received some information via my trainer that sent me for a loop and had me seriously questioning my future as a kettlebell trainer. I had made the mistake of FREAKING OUT too soon without having some time to swallow the information. The unnecessary stress just wasn’t worth it, and I have decided to take this moment in my life and treat it as a learning experience. Today, I want to make a point about maintaining your composure when life throws you a curve ball.
It’s time to get creative!
Life is hard. More often than not, the worst of things happen at the worst possible time, and it’s always when we least expect it. A family member may die suddenly . A relationship may be stopped dead in its tracks over finances, infidelity, or what have you. Like me, you could find yourself randomly battling autoimmune problems at an age when most people are healthy as a horse. Whatever happens in life, it can set you up for a roller coaster of emotions that can leave you questioning the direction of your life. Everyone reaches a point in their life where they ask themselves “How am I going to get through this?”. The answer to that question is simple: don’t give up!
I may only be 25 years old, but I have been to hell and back many times throughout my life. Trust me when I say I know what it’s like to want to give up. I know what its like to be so sick, so depressed, so ridden with pain that you can barely find the energy to keep moving forward. In fact, I’ll even argue that I’ve dealt with enough random and traumatic events in my life that most people would have given up their faith in the idea of a positive future. You name it. I’ve been through it. That IS NOT an exaggeration. With that said though, there was one thing, one thing alone, that kept me moving forward when I was at the lowest of the lows in my lifetime.
My dreams.
Imagine a life where you are healthy, financially independent, strong, powerful, and happy 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Imagine a life where you are doing exactly what you love every day. Imagine being yourself, getting paid to be yourself, and meeting all the people who have helped you along the way. Imagine, just for a second, how awesome life can be if you took the time, paid the tuition, studied from the experts, and worked your butt off to make your dreams a reality. Your dreams can and will come true if you don’t give up. When you begin to realize just how simple it can be to reach your dreams, that instilled hope will motivate you to do whatever it takes to live the vibrant life you deserve. To be frank, I am witnessing this effect now as I move closer and closer to my personal training certification. My dreams of training with the top people in the industry are coming true. My career as a trainer is taking flight. It’s happening, and I thank God every day for it!
Don’t give up! Get creative!
No matter what happens in life, no matter how terrible your circumstances may be, and no matter what kind of unfortunate news you may receive, don’t let those things stop you from being the best version of yourself. Don’t get derailed from your path towards awesomeness. Don’t let anything or anyone steal your dreams! Take each moment of your life and make it a golden opportunity to mold yourself into everything you ever dreamed you could be. It can happen, it will happen. your dreams are worth fighting for! Your life has value! Don’t quit! Don’t ever give up!
I will leave you all with the inspiring the words of my trainer, RKC II Kerry Swick. Nothing sums up the point of this blog post better than these encouraging words of this incredible woman.
“Having the strength to carry onward when life gets hard is what ultimately leads to success. You’re powerful enough to move forward, and the more you move, the more you will succeed. ”
Remember to eat smart, train hard, and enjoy your life!
Love Always,
Janelle
