Sometimes, all you need to hear is “you matter”, and today, we’re going to talk about why you matter. Today, it’s just me talking about how life can get nuts and how you can approach life when stress comes barging through your front door. There will be no mention of my repetitious workouts, and no mention of any new food creation I’ve whipped up. This s just me, being open and real because not a lot of people out there write from the heart. I do, because I care about people. Just sayin’
I am a ridiculously busy 25 year old woman. I operate this blog, I am training for RKC Vienna in 2013, I operate my Beyond Organic Business, co-teach at Pittsburgh kettlebells, and have to study for my NASM certification while maintaining a job on top of it all. There. That’s my life. It’s insane right? Most people my age are more tied up with their weekend night life to bother with anything else outside their job, let alone the 5 projects I have going on at the same time while I work at the moment. To be completely honest, there are times when I look at my schedule and think “how on earth am I going to manage this all?”. When you’re in up to your neck with work, it can be easy to feel asphyxiated by stress. Sometimes, that stress can be so overwhelming that you just feel like giving up everything. That is until you hear the words “you matter”.
People always ask me what motivates me to do everything that I am doing right now. Here’s the answer. Not a day goes by where someone tells me “because of you, I was inspired to change my life for the better”. And believe me, when I am tired and worn out, those types of statements motivate me to keep moving on towards the grand prize of RKC. I gave up a huge part of who I was to train for this certification and it has not been a mistake at all. The fact that I can have some part in inspiring someone else to live a healthy life makes me realize that I have chosen then right path, that everything I am doing is worth moving ahead towards RKC. And I know that even after RKC, I will still move forward to help more people as time goes on. There are people out there that are looking for inspiration because they desperately need a reason to change. When you can have fun in every moment of your life, you inspire others to do the same. When you change, you inspire others to change. It really is that simple.
My goal has been and shall remain the three letters behind my name: RKC. Everything I am doing at this time is pointed towards that certification. I have spent a considerable amount of time and a considerable amount of money already to train for this certification, and I remind myself each day that the certification is worth the ultimate reward: teaching others the art of strength. Over the past few months, I have taken on a new job to fund the certification, networked with some amazing people around Pittsburgh and trained my butt off to get one step closer to this goal. Granted, there were times when I DID feel stressed out and when I DID stumble through some side projects of mine, but hey, I’m human. God knows I’m not perfect. But the good news is that no matter how hectic things were, and no matter how hectic things will be in the future, I enjoy every moment of my day working towards this certification, Each time I practice the RKC snatch test, I picture those letters behind my name. Each time I whip up an amazing paleo dish, I think about how it will fuel me for my workouts to prep for RKC. Each time I’m out co-teaching with my trainer, I envision myself training one-on-one with someone. Each time I study the immense amount of anatomy and physiology for my NASM cert, I realize that it’s worth it to get to my dream job. RKC is the biggest motivator for me right now, and while this is certification will be a personal victory for me physically, it will empower me to empower others to change their life for the better. In my opinion, it is THAT kind of empowerment that reaps the greatest reward. RKC is all about strength, but when you can help others get stronger too, you’re truly living an amazing life!
You matter.
Don’t give up the race too soon and keep fighting for what you believe in! Life gets crazy and can derail you at times, but all you have to do is dust off the stress and move forward. All you have to do is remind yourself of your goal, and how people will be inspired to change because of all your hard work. Be that inspiration! You matter! Now go out and be awesome!
Remember to eat smart, train hard and enjoy your life!
Love Always,
Janelle
