A lot of people ask me about how I am able to find the time to train for my RKC certification when I am as busy as can be. If you follow this blog, you probably saw that Monday I had a heart-to-heart with myself and had to rearrange and refocus some projects of mine to make it all happen. I will admit that sometimes, the demands of life can be so intense that it seems impossible to even find time to breathe, let a lone find time to exercise. Truth be told, you really only need about 30 minutes a day or less to get your fitness goals worked into your schedule. Don’t believe me? Check out this workout I came up with using my beloved kettlebells.
Kettlebell Chaos
Circuit 1: 10 minutes
You will use a 16kg kettlebell and a 12 kg kettlebell. Place each kettlebell about 30 yards away from each other. You will Swing the 16kg kettlebell 10 times then sprint to the 12kg kettlebell. You will then do 6 goblet squats using the 12 kg kettlebell. You will then sprint back to the 16 kg kettlebell and perform you swings. Do as many rounds as you can in 10 minutes.
Circuit 2: 5 minutes
Using a 12kg kettlebell, swing the 12kg with one arm 5 times and then immediately switch to the left arm and perform 5 swings. You will then immediately switch back to the right arm ad perform 5 snatches. Immediately switch to the left arm and do 5 snatches. You will then immediately switch to the right arm and perform 5 cleans and presses. Switch to the left arm and perform 5 cleans and presses. Do as many rounds as you can in five minutes.
Circuit 3: 5 minutes
Using a 12kg kettlebell, do around the worlds. Stand straight and swing the kettlebell around your torso ten times to the right, then ten times to the left. Set this circuit for 30 seconds of work followed by 30 seconds of reset.
Total time for this workout? A whopping 25 minutes (30 if you count the 1-2 minutes in between circuits for rest periods). See that? It doesn’t take a lot of time to put in an amazing workout for yourself! Now, I’d like to challenge you all to put in just 30 minutes of exercise for yourself each day for a year. Granted, it doesn’t have to be my kettlebell chaos workout each day. Walk, hike, bike, swing kettlebells, or just do whatever it is that makes you happy that involves physical activity. Get out there and be active for 30 minutes a day! Your body will thank you for it! I promise you!
