Here’s something most people don’t know about me. I am a Health Coach that was certified through the Beyond Organic University in the Spring of 2012. What that means is that I am able to point you in the direction towards some of the highest quality of food available to you. I was asked the other day about what I normally eat to maintain optimal leanness. Now, what I am going to show you is just a taste (pun INTENDED! :-p) of what I normally whip up around the apartment with one of my roommates, Carlos (who happens to be my crock pot. Yes, I name all of my appliances!). Here’s a look at what I did the other day.
Using Beyond Organic Hot Dogs in combination with some left over Bratwurst I received from Market District here in Robinson Township, Carlos and I whipped up Mark Sisson’s Translyvanian Stock Pot from the book “The Primal Blueprint Cookbook”. For those of yunz who don’t have this book, I will post the recipe below with the modifications I made using the featured Beyond Organic Hot Dogs.
Mark Sissons’s Transylvanian Stock Pot: Burgher’s Beyond Organic Version
6 ounces bacon cut into one inch pieces
1 large onion, chopped.
3 cloves of chopped garlic.
1 tablespoon of paprika (I use the hot paprika)
1/2 teaspoon of ground black pepper.
1 28 ounce can of chopped tomatoes (I LOVE the fire roasted kind)
3 cups of chicken broth
1 teaspoon of cinnamon
1/3 cup golden raisins
2 bay leaves
1 package of Beyond Organic Hot Dogs
1 Package of Bratwurst
(note: the original recipe from Mark Sisson uses 1 lb of smoked polish kielbasa. I have replaced the kielbasa with bratwurst and hot dogs).
Instructions: Chop everything up and place it in your crock pot. Mix it all up with your hands and add the chicken stock when your done. Set on a low heat for 8-10 hours and PRESTO! You Will end up with something that tastes like a little bowl of heaven! And that’s real talk, ya heard? As for how to serve it all up? Just take it out of the crock pot and add some canned coconut milk to it for some additional richness. I normally just add some left over coconut pudding from the fridge to kick out some of the heat. It is simply delicious!
