Happy Friday everyone! I hope you all had a great week and are ready to gear up for the weekend. I am keeping this blog post pretty short today, but as short as it is, I wanted to release a super yummy recipe that involves one of my favorite foods: the avocado.
Over the past week I was asked about some of my “Burgherfied” recipes for guacamole. Since it’s avocado season, there has been a HUGE influx of avocados being transported to this side of the states. I love all things related to the avocado, and since it’s prime time for the season, I wanted to release a fun and flavor recipe that is guaranteed to make you smile (and probably have you salivate :-p). Here’s is my recipe for homemade guacamole!
Burgh Verified Guacamole
Ingredients:
4 avocados
3 strips of bacon
3-4 roasted red peppers, chopped (note: I use a local brand of Italian roasted red peppers from the Delallo family because they are simply the best in the area! Be sure to check them out at delallo.com! ).
1-2 tsp Chipotle powder
Directions:Fry bacon in a separate skillet. While bacon is cooking, empty the contents of the avocados into a mixing bowl. Chop the rosted red peppers and add them to the mix. Once the bacon is fully cooked, remove from the pan and chop the slices into bits. Add bacon to the avocado and roasted red pepper mix and stir together. Add chipotle powder to taste.
Congratulations! You just made a Burgh verified guacamole! 😉 This recipe is great to pair with steak, chicken, ribs, or seafood (trust me, I have tried this as a topping with all the four meats listed I can tell you from personal experience, it’s WONDERFUL! And given my description, looks like this guacamole is best paired with any meat! 😉 ).
By the way everyone, don’t forget that I still have my “Guacamole Happens” t-shirt listed on spreadshirt.com. Be sure to get your on “Guacamole Happens” t-shirt today! That’s all I have for yinz! As always, remember to eat smart train hard, and enjoy your life!
Love Always,
