Happy New Year from Primal Fitness Pittsburgh! As promised, the blog is back up and running after the holidays. I must say, I am thrilled to kick off 2014 with a bang! There have been a TON of developments on the home front of Primal Fitness Pittsburgh. I am happy to announce that new kettlebell classes, primal move group sessions, as well as some super exciting workshops are about to hit the Greater City of Pittsburgh. Please continue to follow the blog in the coming weeks as I will be releasing class schedules and workshop dates that you simply will not want to miss! Get ready Pittsburgh! Yinz ain’t seen nothing yet! 😉
Now, let’s get this new year started off with a bang!
I wanted to take some time to really hone in on a subject matter that is the number one topic of discussion at this time of the year. It’s January 1st, and I know you all out there have made some new years resolutions for yourself. I am always taken back by how many of us out there make commitments to give up things, or be less of something that we were in the year prior. I always hear about how people make a commitment to give up junk food or quit smoking. I hear about how people want to weigh less, stress less, this that and the next thing. Granted, these are GOOD things to focus on, but my point here is that we should be making a shift in our focus. We shouldn’t just be giving up things or becoming less than what we once were. We should be GAINING things too. We should become more than we ever thought possible for the better.Â
Here’s an example of what I mean here. This year, I want to refine my training skills and become stronger. I want to hit more personal records and become much more mentally resilient. I also want to gain more momentum in my business and help even more people become healthy and strong. I want to establish more amazing friendships (and not just for networking purposes). I want to be more open with people. I want to be more “real” with people and have even more fun than the previous year with everyone I meet in Pittsburgh and elsewhere. I want to focus on becoming more than I ever dreamed I could be and I want to do more positive things in the name of health and wellness.
With all that being said, I have some questions for you all out there reading this post. What do you want to gain in the New Year? What do you want to become more of? What do you want to achieve in terms of your strength gains, your endurance, your resilience? Most importantly, what are you going to do to make your dreams a reality? What are you going to do to become better than you ever thought possible?
Your attitude is everything when it comes to living a better life. Set some goals and make a plan of attack to kick start your New Year right! Focus on doing more, not doing less. Focus on becoming more, not becoming less. Focus on all you wish to achieve. Focus on all you want to GAIN and make a commitment to chase after your dreams! Be stronger. Be faster. Be whatever else you can be more of this year for the better. Life isn’t just about living through our monotonous day-in-day-out routines. Life is about thriving! The more willing we are to test our limits, step out of our comfort zones, and do more for ourselves, the more we will reap in terms of our overall wellness. We will be stronger, more resilient, more willing to love and ever more capable of making our dreams a reality.
Conquer your fears! Master your instincts! Be more of yourself this year!
