Enough: adequate for the want or need; sufficient for the purpose or to satisfy desire.
Lately, it seems that everyone. . .EVERYONE. . .has had enough of one thing or another. Turn on the news ( or better yet Facebook) and you’ll see nothing but people waiving their hands in the air over one issue or another. All well and good, as you DO have your rights to do so.
But this begs an important question about having ENOUGH of our circumstances and wanting to CHANGE those circumstances we may be faced with for the better. I can’t think of a better analogy for this than our own strength and health, and that is the focus of this post today. Strength. Health.
Have you ever felt like you have simply had enough of *insert certain circumstance here*? Do you find yourself hanging on to those things that keep getting in the way of your strength training, nutritional habits, and generally feeling more awesome each day of your life?
It’s January 25th, 2017.
How are those new years resolutions working out for you?
No really.
With all that is happing in our own busy lives, it can be all too easy to get distracted by our schedules, our kids, our school obligations, the news, you name it. This is nothing to be ashamed of really, as only 8% of people actually achieve their New Year’s Resolutions. If you find yourself in this category, please repeat after me:
“ENOUGH!”
Most people that have (for lack of a better phrase) “fallen off the fitness wagon” find themselves in a relapse stage of this continuum, followed up by coming back to preparation (and for a more detailed explanation of the stages, click this link). Again, this is nothing to be ashamed of, but to recognize as a sign that you may not have been as ready as you thought you were to tackle what the goals you set out for yourself.
What do you wish to accomplish this year and that you can reasonably stay committed to?
What small, tangible steps can you put in place to start making small, daily changes to lead you to your long term goals?
Most importantly, do you have the support in place to make your dreams a reality?
ENOUGH!
