Welcome to a whole lot of kettlebell swings! It’s February, and if you fee like you were off your game with your January resolutions, FEAR NOT! You, dear reader, are NOT ALONE!
Starting up new fitness habits can be challenging, especially when you feel overwhelmed by one-too-many-changes-all-at-once. Lately, I have been all about keeping things simple, especially when it comes to my own fitness journey and the other journeys of my clients. Time and time again, I have worked with a number of people that have come to me with a certain level of (what I will call) “exercise burnout”. Complicated workouts with complicated nutritional protocols makes life a whole lot more complicated if you ask me. In honor of the very title of this post, let’s all take today as our call to action and swing into a whole new era of strength, conditioning, and health.
Let’s get back into the swing of things!
Even the busiest of busy types should find a solid 15 minutes to train daily. Today, I have a short, simple, yet incredibly effective training routine to help you swing back into the strong, powerful person you know yourself to be. Grab yourself a kettlebell and perform the following routine for 15 minutes.
30 seconds of two handed swings, followed by 30 seconds of rest.
Here’s a short video for the two handed swing technique for review.
Your goal for the 15 minutes is to see if you can perform a total of 300 kettlebell swings. That equates to a solid 20 reps per minute for 15 minutes. Give yourself a solid 3-4 weeks to work up to this capacity, and you will find yourself getting stronger and much more conditioned than before. Truly, it is that simple.
