It’s been almost a YEAR since my last blog post. Telling, mostly because I have bounced around from one end of the State of Pennsylvania to the next in an effort to . . .well. . .just stay the hell alive.
In January of 2018, I made a public instagram post of how I was released from Cove Forge Behavioral Health System, a known drug and alcohol treatment facility. After that post went viral, my phone went off nearly every hour on the hour for a solid 2 weeks straight from friends, family members, former business colleagues and my old strong first kettlebell coaching friends called and asked me the very same question. .
“Dude. . .WHAT HAPPENED?!?!?”
I’ve been through a lot in the last 2 years of my life, arguably the most within just this past year. I’ve seen everything under the sun in the world of recovery from trauma and addiction, which is where my focus for nutrition and training has most recently shifted. I wish there was a way that I actually could have documented the last few years of my life, to give you all an inside peek of how the rehabilitative treatment system and criminal justice system actually work, and how to find your inner strength through training and nutrition all along the way.
I’ll save that for my next publication though (and yes, if you’ve been following me, it WILL be coming together within the next year).
Today, I am posting this blog post as a way to just “get back out there” and do what is is I do best, eat smart and train hard, and write about WHY those two things are so important when focussing on my own life. My hopes are that, by sharing my experiences, you, the reader of this blog, will make a connection and draw similar comparisons to live a better life for your own self.
The simplest way to start your healthy journey is to start eating just a little bit better and start moving just a little bit more, while becoming ever more aware of what personal habits of yours may also be getting in the way of becoming the strongest version of yourself.
That is where this blog will take you, and I welcome you aboard to this incredible adventure we will walk together.
