It’s Friday people! What are you all up to this weekend? As for me, I am back home for my final round of tattoo work (and seriously, this better be the last visit. I have nearly 12 hours of work on my right arm and I am really exhausted from all this needle work!). I don’t have a lot to say for yinz today other than I have had a surge of energy spike me lately from too much heavy metal (which apparently is related to too much coffee consumption. There truly is a correlation between the two there 🙂 )
Going along with my heavy metal theme here, I started to experiment with some heavy kettlebell swings. For those of you who saw my blog post about my HELL MONTH of RKC training coming up, I had a lot heavy snatch work and heavy swing work to complete for my HKC certification in September (by the way, you can still register for the early bird special discount for the Pittsburgh HKC on September 15th. Sign up today at Dragon Door to receive $100 off your tuition! The special ends August 18th). In fact, I have a snatch routine designed for me using a 16kg kettlebell and a frightening looking swing routine with a 20 kg kettlebell. Ladies and gentlemen, I have reached a new level of fitness! I am excited about my strength gains, but am now completely mortified about how hard my trainer is going to push me over the next few months. Things are about to get very, very interesting! Due to the intensity of my training, I decided to have some fun practicing some two hand 20 kg swings. And yes, I even filmed it for you all!
This video is designed to be more of an “open ended” video. What I mean by that is that this video is my first attempt to properly demonstrate proper swing technique. However, I am not an expert (not yet at least) so this video also is out there on YouTube because I am looking for solid, constructive criticism from everyone I know in the fitness world. Seriously guys, I am calling all the experts on this because I want to make sure I AM indeed doing these swings right. If I am not, or if there is something I can improve upon, please comment on this blog post. I mean it!
Ok, without further adieu, here’s me swinging some heavy stuff!
I hope you all enjoyed that demonstration. Again, all you fitness gurus should comment on my form here if you see anything wrong with it. I have a lot of heavy swings coming up this month and I want to make sure I can solidify my form on these routines I have to complete. I would really appreciate the feed back! Thanks guys!
Well, that’s all I have for yunz tonight! Have a fantastic weekend! Remember to always eat smart, train hard, and enjoy your life!
Love Always,
Janelle
