If you follow me on Instagram, you are probably familiar with my frequent visits to Frick Park, right here in the East Side of Pittsburgh. Not only is this local park one of the most beautiful nature reserves local to Pittsburgh, it also has oodles of space to make for some fun workouts. I love being outdoors! I love training outdoors! And with Saturday’s sunlight shining brightly, I decided to get out there and train with a pair of kettlebells. Go a head and try this routine out for yourself! A word of caution here, this routine will lead to high heart rates and lots of sweat in a short amount of time. If you’re cold, this will warm you up! I guarantee it!
Jingle (Kettle)Bells!
You will need two 12 kg kettlebells for this routine. Complete the following three complexes, resting as needed between each workset.
Jingle Bells: Complete 3 total worksets of the following complex.
5 double cleans
5 double See Saw Presses
5 double front squats
rest as needed between each workset.
Jingle Bells: Complete 3 total worksets of the following ladder.
1 Double swing, 1 double high pull, one double snatch.
2 double swings, 2 double high pulls, 2 double snatches.
3 double swings, 3 double high pulls, 3 double snatches.
Do not rest until you complete the entire ladder up to the third progression. 1 total progression of the ladder equals one total workset. Rest as needed between each ladder.
Jingle All the Way: Complete 3 total worksets of the following complex.
3 Double Swings
3 Double High Pulls
3 Double Clean and Presses
3 Double Front Squats
Rest as needed between each complex.
I should also note that this workout has the ability to make you hungry, so much so that you are likely to become ravenous. Feel free to feast after this one. You have my permission to splurge after this one. In fact, I highly recommend that you do! 😉
Have a very Merry Christmas everyone! Until next time!
Press on!
