Happy Friday everyone! I hope you all are gearing up for an awesome weekend and are ready to enjoy your life as this work week comes to a close. I am keeping things short, simple, but ever so awesome today as I have some great news to report in terms of my Burgher life!
For those of you who follow me on twitter (my name is poznaisebia on twitter, so follow me if you don’t already) you probably heard that I am completely finished with my NASM Personal Training course and have started studying hard for the final exam (by the way, to be a certified personal trainer, you first have to pass an exam to obtain liability insurance. I highly suggest that if you are entering into the fitness industry to check out the National Academy of Sports Medicine and their personal training program here. It is a phenomenal organization with a great certification program. Get certified today!) I plan on taking my exam by the beginning of the new year which means…I WILL BE TAKING ON CLIENTS! GET EXCITED!
While I do not have the complete details on my exam date nor my training information as of yet, what I can tell you is this: starting in 2013, I will be slowly taking on my first ever clients as I work towards the RKC. If any of you in the Pittsburgh area are looking for some help starting out your New Years resolutions, please feel free to send me an email at janelle@primalburgher.com and I will be more than willing to arrange something with you. You can email me now as I am currently working out costs structures for myself and between my trainer. There will be more details to come in the future on all this, so stay tuned!
Speaking of training, I recently stopped in at Pittsburgh Kettlebells after the Thanksgiving Holiday and was greeted with an amazing surprise as soon as I walked in the door! Looks like my own trainer, RKC II Kerry Swick is just as excited as the rest of you are for my start off in the fitness industry. My trainer had my HKC certification all framed and ready to be pinned on the wall. That means all of yinz in the Sewickley area should be getting ready for yours truly to be making more frequent appearances at Pittsburgh Kettlebells come the New Year. Your training is about to get even more creative 😉 GET EXCITED!
Finally, you all know by now that I am basically in love with the book “Raising the Bar” by Al Kavadlo. I have dedicated one day out of the week to just have some fun with my pull up bar at my apartment to practice my pull ups, hanging leg raises and my personal favorite, a drill called skinning the cat. I featured this move on a previous blog post, but I wanted to show you all my progress on it thus far. I took this video with my iPhone at Pittsburgh Kettlebells, so forgive me for the weird choppiness to the video. It still serves it’s purpose though!
As for the progress, I am working on fully extending my legs to have my entire back horizontal with the bar. The end result should look something like this photo featured here. Once that becomes reality, I will let you all know via YouTube. I promise! For now, I am happy with my progress! I cannot wait to master this move entirely!
That’s all I have for you guys today! Remember to eat smart, train hard and enjoy your life!
Love Always,
Janelle
